The customer contacted Atlas with a request to modify the end of an existing press line to accommodate two additional part racking personnel at an additional racking station. The customer had two very large turn tables which had been decommissioned, an existing part shuttle, an exit conveyor, limited space and a limited budget. Atlas delivered two cross conveyors that consist of a 72” wide belt with soft drop area, mounted to a formed sheet metal frame. The conveyors are 192” long. Both conveyors are attached to a common center point. The center and ends have adjustable height via manual controlled air motor. Parts are discharged from the cross conveyors onto pack-out trays. Operators remove parts from the trays and manually load them into racks, which are pre-staged on the turn tables. The operator side of the tray has air powered height adjustment, tilt, cup holders and fans. The turn tables were refurbished and upgraded and now have three rack positions and feature auto index with manual override.

Atlas provided an End of Line System designed to provide operators the ability to rack parts exiting press line 5. The Atlas end of line system is linked to the press line with approximately 250’ of part conveyors, which are installed under an aisle. Two part transfer conveyors, each mounted on a two position cross shuttle receive panels from the existing exit conveyor. Parts will be discharged from the shuttle conveyors and/or the pass through conveyor onto a pack-out tray. Operators remove parts from the trays and load the racks. The racks are presented to the operator for loading using turntables. The turntables have two positions.
